These non-tangle rods are used to prevent the flag or banner from wrapping around outrigger style poles.  The hook and ring at the end of the non-tangle rod must be attached securely to the rope halyard with the bronze clamp at the far end, attaching to the bottom side of the flag.

We recommend that a non-tangle rod patch be sewn onto the flag or banner at the position that the rod attaches to the flag.  An appropriate size non-tangle patch is 6-12" and provides and multiple layers of material to clamp on to.

We suggest that when you place an order for a custom-made flag or banner that will be used in conjunction with an outrigger pole, that you consider having an optional non-tangle rod patch added to the flag.
